Dive with Gerard
My name is Gerard Condal. I’m 34 years old, from Barcelona, but born in a small town in Lleida. After studying a business degree and working 10 years in a branding agency, I turned my focus into diving and helping people through the amazing underwater world. At the moment, I’m based in Barcelona and working as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

My story
Passionate about branding, marketing, education and diving. Obsessed with South East Asia. Former Senior Brand Strategist and Digital Account Supervisor now involved in the training of divers.
Ten years of working at FIRMA, a constantly growing branding agency born in Barcelona where I was involved with several branding and communication projects, led me to specialize in media planning (with a strong online focus), digital marketing and business consultancy. Additionally, my collaboration with ESADE and ESDI by designing and teaching brand management courses, helped me to discover how much I enjoy sharing knowledge and ideas that I am passionate about… something I think it’s in my genes!
These past experiences helped me to develop personal and professional skills and characteristics that define my work philosophy: vitality and optimism, assertiveness, empathy and teamwork, hands-on leadership with public recognition of achievements, personal improvement and self-criticism, strong sense of responsibility and a global perspective… With these aptitudes, I enjoy creating environments that empower people around me and try to always lend a hand to make my colleagues or clients a little happier with my daily contributions.

Diving was one of my personal hobbies since 2008. My several trips to South East Asia were great to experience the amazing underwater world.
I enjoy the rythmic noise of the bubbles generated by exhalation while we dive.
Now, I’m on a volutarily professional hiatus of my branding career to help people discover the amazing underwater world and learn a lot of new things also for myself. At the moment I’m working as an Open Water Scuba Instructor. Sometimes I’m freelancing, some others I’m more stable and collaborating with a dive center. During my work in the diving industry, in addition to share my pasion with everybody around, I expect to be able to integrate the diving in my already existing areas of interest… and let’s see what happens! Universo.Blue might be a first step.

Passionate about South East Asia and travelling in general. I’ve been lucky enough to visit more than 30 countries.
Photography
Although I’m completely an “amateur”, I like to take pictures with my Olympus Pen or my iPhone and feed my instagram account.
Cooking
Not only trying nice food from all over the world, but also enjoy being the chef, specially when there are guests at the table.
Sports
You can find me on a static bike enjoying spinning or in a guided workout at the gym. I’m not crazy, just for health.
